Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed (Alžbeta Bátoriová in Slovak, Báthory Erzsébet in Hungarian) was born on the 7th of August 1560 and passed away on the 21st of August, 1614. On this anniversary of her death, 396 years after her reign, I give to you Elizabeth Bathory by `mehmeturgut. His incredible depiction of the "Blood Countess" and/or the "Bloody Lady of Čachtice" reminds me of why I read so many books about her while growing up. This shot just nails it. It's incredibly compelling. I also really appreciate the effort that was put into her hair. A vastly superior work to the easy smut that passes for artistic representation of her. I really feel like this is the embodiment of a person and not a caricature.
