I was immediately drawn to it, but as I looked at it closely, I started to feel as if it was unbalanced. Upon closer inspection, I came to the conclusion that the crop is not ideal (for me in any case). I see you've placed the in-focus eye on the TL to BR diagonal, whereas I think I may have preferred to have seen it on the TR to BL diagonal as you have the leading line of his beard along the jawline too.
I apologise if it seems like I'm splitting hairs, but the only way I'll improve as a photographer myself is to always ask myself where - if at all possible - could something be improved? Not that my work is anywhere near your standard...
